Nalco 1072 (Kieselsol) is a liquid colloidal suspension of silicon dioxide, which is extremely effective in chill-proofing and has been used in production of "vegan-friendly" beers. The resulting silica/protein complexes form relatively compact sediment cakes at bottom of fermenter that aid in separation from the stabilized beer. Nalco 1072 is a convenient and ready-to-use solution.
Usage: Kieselsol 30% solution is a negatively charged fining agent used to remove excess tannin, dead yeast cells, and floccular precipitate.
Directions: Shake well before using and gently stir approximately 12.5 ml per 5 to 6 gallons of beer or wine. It will clear within 12-48 hours.
